City of San Diego – Morena Pipelines Northern Alignment and Tunnels

Project Synopsis
As part of the Pure Water Program team, CPM Partners is providing CPM scheduling services to the City of San Diego for this project. The Pure Water Program is a phased, multi-year program that will provide more than 40% of San Diego’s water supply locally by the end of 2035. The Program will use proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water and offers a cost-effective investment for San Diego’s water needs and will provide a reliable, and sustainable water supply.

The work mainly consists of the installation of a 48-inch wastewater force main pipeline (approx. 20,870 LF) and a 30-inch Welded Steel Pipe brine concentrate/conveyance pipeline (approx. 20,870 LF) that will carry byproduct from water purification south, underneath I-805 to the North City Water Reclamation Plant. The pipe installation will be performed by open trench method and will also require micro-tunneling underneath San Clemente Canyon, Rose Canyon, and Interstate 805.
