Castaic Lake Water Agency (Various Projects)


Project Synopsis
CPM Partners, as a sub-consultant, provided construction management support services to the Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA) for a variety of
projects.

RIO VISTA WATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION PROJECT
The Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant Expansion project involved construction of new facilities to provide for additional treatment capacity at
the Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant. This project also included ozone improvements, wash-water return treatment improvements and a new raw
water connection to Municipal Water District’s Foothill Feeder.  New construction was performed while maintaining operation of the existing facility.

TRANSMISSON MAINS PROJECT
This project included construction of new water pipelines for the project known as Construction of Groundwater Production Restoration Transmission Mains Project. Work included construction of approximately 2,320 feet of 42-inch, 200 feet of 36-inch, 4,780 feet of 30-inch, 6,880 feet of 18-inch, 5,230 feet of 16-inch, and 1,675 feet of 10-inch diameter pipeline complete with air vacuum/release valves and appurtenances, trenching, excavation, shoring, tree protection, proper disposal of excess excavated material, backfill, import of backfill material as necessary, asphalt pavement, concrete, man way vaults and appurtenances, bridge crossings, cathodic test stations, electrical conduit and boxes, pipeline testing and disinfection, and the restoration of the site. The project involved multiple stages, night work and work around Magic Mountain amusement park.

GROUNDWATER CONTAINMENT, TREATMENT AND RESTORATION PROJECT
Construction of Groundwater Containment, Treatment and Restoration Project included construction of piping, electrical work, owner furnished
well pumps and motors at the Saugus No. 1 and 2 wells; Construction of a Booster Pump Station including pumps, piping, electrical, and
instrumentation; construction of a perchlorate treatment plant at the Rio Vista Pump Station including bag filters, ion exchange vessels, treated water tanks, treated water pumps, outdoor chemical storage and feed systems; relocation of treatment equipment from the Q2 Well site to the Rio Vista Pump Station site, site grading and piping, electrical, instrumentation, miscellaneous site and facility improvements, and appurtenances.

EARL SCHMIDT FILTRATION PLANT, CHEMICAL STORAGE & DELIVERY PROJECT
The project included construction of site grading, drainage and pressure piping and appurtenances, catch basins, manholes, grating, reinforced
concrete chemical delivery containment pads, replacement asphalt, pre-cast underground tanks, modifications to existing concrete chemical storage
secondary containment walls, new concrete containment walls, replacement concrete stairs with railing, stile ladder, chemical and potable
water piping and appurtenances, chemical storage tank, sump pumps, electrical and instrumentation.

SAND CANYON RESERVIOR ROAD PROJECT
This project included construction of the Sand Canyon Reservoir Access Road. The work includes rough and fine grading, construction of asphalt
concrete pavement on aggregated base, concrete curb, concrete gutter, ribbon gutter, asphalt concrete dike, concrete “U” channel, retaining walls,
furnishing and installing new storm drain pipes, drainage inlets, manholes, storm drain outlets, energy dissipater, overflow inlet structure, irrigation sleeves, grating, chain link fences, furnishing and installing erosion control and storm water pollution control measures, adjustment of utility structures to grade, and all appurtenances.
